“There is no such thing as a religious child, only a child of religious parents.”
Think for yourself.
It’s amazing what being confined to one floor with no windows and nothing to do besides watch tv and peruse the interwebz for two days will do for your mind. No shutoff switch, and I just want to sleep. I really hope my car didn’t get towed.
LOL, IT’S AN INBRED CAT!
Citycop (Ashtabula, OH)
Got to play a couple of shows with these guys, most recently in South Bend, IN. I thoroughly enjoy their music, they have a very defined sound. Their guitarist has been going on two years of playing shows by just plugging in a classic acoustic straight into the PA, and it works for them. That along with their unique writing style makes for good, fast, melodic screamo (in the vein of Thursday). Their new album “The Hope in Forgiving and Giving Up” can be streamed/downloaded here (citycop.bandcamp.com).
Dee, wtf?
Sohns (San Antonio, TX)
Love this band. I played a couple of shows with them back in June, they are an absolute riot live, and I’m pretty sure their vocalist is a witch doctor . They recently did a music video for a song off of their full length “To Ward It Off and Drown It Out” (above) and did an excellent job on it. As far as I know they only have the full length and a split they did with their hometown buds The Grasshopper Lies Heavy which can both be steamed on their bandcamp (sohns.bandcamp.com). They are currently writing and having someone do a dubstep remix of one of their songs (and possibly a whole EP?) which I’m kinda excited for. With influences ranging from Refused to Battles, this band fucking RULES.
Absolutely wonderful. Their new album “The Sun Will Rise and Lead Me Home” reminds me a lot of “Two Conversations” by The Appleseed Cast with more of a posty aspect. They are currently on tour and will be playing Kalamazoo, MI August 17 at Louie’s with local math legends Charles the Osprey and Good News. The rest of the dates can be found here, http://gatesnj.com/dates, and if you can’t make it to a show you can download there album for free through bandcamp or order a hard copy.
